Bosco Eduardo Fernandes Bosco Eduardo Fernandes has a number of years experience in data and GSM implementation and network deployment. Mr. Fernandes was a member of the Future Advanced Mobile/ wireless Universal systems "FAMOUS" the trilateral future standards co-ordination group (Japan, USA and Europe) for a few years. He held the chair of the personal and mobile domain in the research and development programme of the European Commission for three years and kick-started UMTS. He has a Dipl. Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from Munich, is a senior member of the IEEE and member of the Russian International Telecommunications Academy. He is also the former chairman of the UMTS Task Force that preceded the creation of the UMTS Forum and now chairs the Information, Communications and Technologies (IT Media) Group in the UMTS Forum that defines, analyses and checks interoperability of Services/Applications and content delivery in UMTS.
